Residential Services

The people we serve choose what is most important to them and most important for them, and we match them with home environments that most closely meet their needs and preferences.

Our driving philosophy is simple: listen to each person’s goals and desires, and then work in concert as a team to develop a meaningful program. We build close, genuine relationships based on the trust and rapport that develops through our intimate caseload sizes and self-directed supports. Overture’s team members value and promote communication, collaboration, and choice.

Currently, Overture residential teams support hundreds of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We are currently and actively serving individuals in Washoe, Clark, Ormsby, Douglas, Lyon, Elko, and Nye county.

Our residential options include Host Home settings, Family Caregiver arrangements, and Independent Living solutions, all designed to promote choice and independence. Through our intimate caseload sizes and self-directed supports, we build genuine relationships focused on communication, collaboration, and individual choice. Our dedicated teams are committed to matching individuals with home environments that best suit their needs and preferences.

Interested in becoming a family caregiver?

A family caregiver may be a mother, father, brother, or sister who is paid through an agency to provide daily supports to their adult family member with intellectual or developmental disabilities. This option gives individuals in services the choice to continue living at home where they are comfortable with family members who can continue to support their needs.

Host Homes are residential settings in which an individual receiving Overture services lives in the community with someone of their choosing that is available to help provide supports when needed. Host homes come in all shapes in sizes depending on what the person is looking for in a living companion. Overture has host homes throughout the state of Nevada in various cities, suburbs, and more rural areas. Home means something different to everyone and some of our host homes have families that the person can live with, other host homes may be just two people living together. We support host homes with 1-2 people receiving services living in the home with a designated Host Home Provider. Please contact us today and we can discuss whether we have someone that matches your specific preferences.

A Host Home Provider is an independent contractor that opens up a room in their own home to provide access to up to 24/7 supports to a person receiving waiver services. The duties and responsibilities of being a host home provider vary greatly based on the person in their homes distinct needs and wants. There are a number of daily tasks that a provider may support, examples include but are not limited to: daily living skills, social skills development, behavioral support, or medical support.

In Intermittent SLA settings the person served receives services and supports tailored to their specific needs and wants on an as needed basis only. Intermittent SLA services can be provided in any kind of residential setting such as in their own apartment or home with roommates or by themselves, or with their family.

Overture provides only the necessary levels of support for the person served to live the most independent life of their choosing. The level of supports provided ranges from a few hours a day to perhaps only a few hours per week. All Intermittent SLA settings and services and supports are individualized and customized to promote the highest levels of independent living and autonomy. However, we all need a little more assistance from time to time, so Overture provides 24/7/365 On-call emergency supports just in case. We are just a phone call away.

In addition, Overture can provide a variety of remote monitoring technologies such as stove guards, motion sensory/detectors, door and window alarms, GPS enable wearable technology, and bed and toilet sensors, medication reminder boxes, and on-demand video supports, all customized to the needs and desires of the person served to promote independence and health and safety so the people we support can live in the least restrictive settings possible.
